Late Addition Troy Fischer Provides Needed Depth | WVU Football All 105

Troy Fischer joined WVU Football in August 2025 as a surprise addition following the conclusion of fall camp. A 5-foot-11, 216-pound tight end, Fischer doesn’t have the height one might expect for a player at the position, but many teams incorporate tight ends into the passing game from the slot rather than their traditional in-line spot.
Fischer began his college career at Christopher Newport University, a Division III school in Virginia, but didn’t appear on their roster after 2022, his true freshman season. Also listed at long snapper, his versatility will give the Mountaineers valuable depth at a unique position.
