WVU Football Adds 3 More Players to 2025 Roster

WVU Football added three commits to the official roster Thursday, per Josh Wolfe. The players include junior tight end/long snapper Troy Fischer, freshman defensive back Matthias Squire and junior defensive lineman Gabe Ryan.

The additions make WVU’s player count 124, above the FBS limit of 105.

Fischer is a native of Mineral, Virginia and last played for Christopher Newport University in the Division III level. His only game he saw action in was on Sept. 24, 2022.

Squire graduated from DeMatha High School this year, now adding an extra body to the defensive back room for WVU.

Ryan is a native of Keyser, West Virginia and played at Keyser High School. In 2022, he won the West Virginia Class AA shot put state championship.
