Source: WVU Football Brings in New Defensive Coach
Adding a new coach to the defensive staff, the WVU football program has brought in an assistant to work with the defensive ends.
A source tells WV Sports Now that West Virginia has hired Larry Knight to be part of the defensive staff and coach the defensive ends and edge rushers. The source says Knight is already in Morgantown and involved in recruiting etc.

Knight mostly recently served in the same role at Arkansas State and coached Temple for two seasons. He also coached at Georgia Tech, Tennessee and a couple other schools.
Knight started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Cincinnati in 2011 after wrapping up a playing career at Central Michigan, where he was a four-year letterman and part of three conference championship teams from 2005-09.
A native of Augusta, Ga., Knight recorded 123 tackles, 25.0 tackles for a loss and 13.5 sacks in his career, earning All-MAC honors as a senior in 2009.

This is where we have to trust RR and hope he isnt too out of date himself. Under Shane Lyons and Browns watch, WVU took a serious step back. Even before the portal/NIL days WVU had to work harder to get skill players and be a top 25 team. Now itโs even harder and staring the hole they dug is making it really tough. I hope we have a good portal run. Except for the Hawkins brothers its looking pretty average so far.

Face it. Neal Brown, with the help of Wren Baker, Gordon Gee, NIL and the Transfer Portal, set the football program back a decade. In fact, WVU may never recover. College football is now the Jr. NFL without real contracts, salary caps or profit sharing.
