Adding a new coach to the defensive staff, the WVU football program has brought in an assistant to work with the defensive ends.

A source tells WV Sports Now that West Virginia has hired Larry Knight to be part of the defensive staff and coach the defensive ends and edge rushers. The source says Knight is already in Morgantown and involved in recruiting etc.

Knight mostly recently served in the same role at Arkansas State and coached Temple for two seasons. He also coached at Georgia Tech, Tennessee and a couple other schools.

Knight started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Cincinnati in 2011 after wrapping up a playing career at Central Michigan, where he was a four-year letterman and part of three conference championship teams from 2005-09.
