According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, West Virginia forward Esa Ahmad is expected to withdraw from the 2018 NBA Draft and return to the Mountaineers for his senior season.

Ahmad is one of two Mountaineer underclassmen that tested the NBA waters without hiring an agent. Sophomore big man Sagaba Konate being the other, who just received an invite to the NBA combine.

Due to being suspended for the first half of the season, Ahmad only played in 21 games. He averaged 10.2 PPG , 5.5 RPG and 2.0 APG while shooting 49% from the field.

With Ahmad returning, this means that West Virginia is still currently one over the scholarship limit for the 2018-19 season.
