Steelers Center Zach Frazier Named to Notable All-Rookie Team
Pittsburgh Steelers center Zach Frazier has been named to the 2024 PFWA All-Rookie Team, the Pro Football Writers Association announced on Tuesday.
Frazier, the Steelers’ second round pick out of West Virginia in the 2024 NFL Draft, started 15 games for the team at center this season, missing two due to injury.
The Fairmont, W.Va. faced competition from Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Graham Barton, Dallas Cowboys center Cooper Beebe and Los Angeles Rams center Beaux Limmer, but took home the voting to become the Steelers first all-rookie offensive lineman since center Maurkice Pouncey in 2010.
Frazier became the 31st Steelers player overall selected to the All-Rookie Team since the PFWA started voting in 1974. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. was the last Steelers player honored in 2023.
Frazier was the only Steelers player selected to the team. Guard Mason McCormick lost out to Jackson Powers-Johnson of the Las Vegas Raiders and Dominick Puni of the San Francisco 49ers. No other Steelers rookie had more than six starts.
Frazier was also named the recipient of the “Joe Greene Great Performance Award” as Pittsburgh’s top performing rookie. This award was voted on by the Pittsburgh chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America, in which WV Sports Now’s Mike Asti is a member.
