A win over Arizona State and WVU extends their win steak to three games, but a loss eliminates West Virginia from bowl eligibility. A lot is on the line in a game fans thought wouldn’t mean anything weeks ago.

Arizona State to Be Without Conference Leading WR Against WVU

Injuries have been an obstacle for WVU all season long, but the Mountaineers could now benefit from an opponent without a star player.

As per the Big 12 injury report, Arizona State will be without Jordyn Tyson, who will miss his third straight game.

Despite missing time, Tyson leads the conference in receptions with 57 and is also within the top 10 with 628 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Rich Rodriguez, WVU Players Touch on Importance of Turning Season Around

Some may view the 2025 WVU football season as a lost year no matter what. And even after a 29-22 win over Colorado, some may still argue itโ€™s a year fans will want to forget. However, thatโ€™s clearly not the mindset of Rich Rodriguez and his Mountaineers.

โ€œFirst off, Iโ€™m really proud of the guys to pull out a win. We did not really play well, but they stayed engaged. When they (Colorado) started making a comeback, nobody panicked, and we will take any win we can get,โ€ said Rodriguez at the start of his postgame press conference on Saturday.

DraftKings had the Mountaineers as a 11.5-point underdog at the open of the week while FanDuel placed a +10.5 spread on Rich Rodriguezโ€™s team.

Oddsmakers Make WVU an Underdog to Continue Win Streak at ASU

Even after consecutive wins, WVU is 4-6 and 2-5 in the Big 12, needing to win out in order to become bowl eligible.

However, the defending Big 12 champion Arizona State Sun Devils will surely pose a tough challenge. Arizona State, 6-3 overall and 4-2 within the conference, is coming off a bye week.

WVU and Arizona State will kickoff from Tempe at 1:00 pm ET. The game will air nationally on TNT.
