The West Virginia Sports Now Daily Notebook is a daily recap of news concerning West Virginia Football and Basketball.
Updated (2:44 p.m.) Senior linebacker Jaden Yates out of Gahanna Lincoln High School in Columbus, Ohio has a visit scheduled on Sunday with West Virginia. Yates tweeted on Thursday afternoon, “I’ll be back in Morgantown this Sunday! Can’t wait to get back to almost heaven.” Yates has offers from Bowling Green, Kent State, Kentucky, Marshall and Ohio.
Update (2:39 p.m.) Class of 2023 wide receiver Javien Brownlee of Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio tweeted on Thursday afternoon that he has a visit scheduled with West Virginia on Sunday. Bronwlee is also visiting Toledo and Cincinnati this weekend.
Update (1:08 p.m.) Defensive end Terrell Spruill out of Rockledge High School in Florida also received an offer from West Virginia. Spruill is a junior and this is the third offer that’s he’s been sent by West Virginia.
Update (12:47 p.m.) The West Virginia baseball team has been picked to finish eighth in the 2022 Big 12 Conference Preseason Baseball Poll. The Mountaineers open their season on Friday, Feb. 18, against Central Michigan in Conway, S.C. The home opener is on Tuesday, March 1, against Canisius at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark.
Update (12:40 p.m.) Wide receiver and cornerback Jaylen Heyward was offered by the Mountaineers on Thursday morning. Heyward is a junior at Rockledge High School in Rockledge, Fla. Heyward has offers from Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Florida State and Georgia Tech, as well.

Update (12:26 p.m.) Cornerback and wide receiver Noah Jenkins received an offer from West Virginia on Thursday morning. Jenkins is a junior and attends Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Va. It was Jenkins’ first Division 1 offer.

Update (12:16 p.m.) West Virginia made an offer to center and defensive lineman Tyler Gant, who is also a product of Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Mo. Gant has also received offers from Arkansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Update (12:07 p.m.) Wide receiver and strong safety Jeremiah McClellan received an offer from the Mountaineers. McClellan is a junior from Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Mo. McClellan also has offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Austin Peay, Boston College and Indiana.
Update (12:01 p.m.) Wide receiver/defensive back Takye Heath was offered by West Virginia on Thursday morning. Heath is a senior from Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Va. Heath has offers from Boston College, Duke, Louisville, Marshall and Maryland.
