Transfer JD DiRenzo Receives Offer from WVU Football

Published

on

When offensive lineman JD DiRenzo decided to leave Sacred Heart University, trying to envision the amount of Power-5 offers he would receive over the next 24 hours seemed like a dream.

The left tackle had spent the past three seasons in Connecticut picking up two-time All-American and three-time All-NEC and Northeast Conference Champion honors. When he declared that he was leaving the program, he was inundated with offers from the likes of the University of Maryland, Minnesota, Rutgers, Ole Miss, Washington, UConn, Texas Tech, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo, Florida International, Mississippi State, Buffalo, Southern Methodist, Purdue, Ball State, and offensive line coach Matt Moore of West Virginia. If he came to Morgantown, the position that redshirt sophomore Brandon Yates currently occupies could be up for grabs.

It’s unclear when the 6’6″, 315-pound lineman will make his selection, but we’ll keep you updated on WVSportsNow.com.
