WV Sports Now Offering Internship Opportunity
Are you a current student or recent graduate looking to break into the wide world of media, most notably digital media? Are you hoping to become a multi-media journalist professionally one day? Well, you’re now in luck thanks to a new opportunity with WV Sports Now.
We are looking to bring on at least one intern to our staff. This position is designed to help provide someone with a chance to gain valuable experience and networking opportunities while helping to assist our network’s coverage of an historic major conference program like the West Virginia Mountaineers across multiple sports.
In the interest of full transparency, this intern role is not be a paid position at this time, but can certainly lead to future conversations about employment within our whole Sports Now family of networks. Several prominent members within the past and present of the Sports Now family started with the network when they were a student and eventually worked their way into a full-time position.
Interning with WV Sports Now will mean working directly with a veteran journalist in Mike Asti and a young professional in Ethan Bock, as well as other like-minded individuals.
While what will be asked of the intern can fluctuate depending on need, WV Sports Now is willing to work within anyone’s availability. WV Sports Now is also willing to adapt the internship to the interests and goals of the intern as long as those interest and goals meet the needs of the network.
And to clarify, perspective interns do NOT have to be a WVU student or a WVU alum. Perspective interns also do not have to be located in or near Morgantown, W.Va. This internship will be a remote position.
Note: IF the intern is a current WVU journalism student, there’s a high possibility this internship will be viewed favorably within the West Virginia University College of Creative Arts & Media.
Please reach out to WVSN managing editor Mike Asti with interest or any questions.
