WVU Basketball Finalizes Pair of Non-Conference Games

WVU Basketball announced two more non-conference games finalized for the 2024-25 season. UMass will return the favor from last season’s Basketball Hall of Fame Classic and play the Mountaineers in Morgantown on Nov. 8. West Virginia will also host NC Central on Dec. 10.

vs. NC Central – Tuesday, Dec. 10

West Virginia and UMass will play each other for the 43rd time, with the Minutemen taking the previous game in December 2023. UMass will make its first return to the WVU Coliseum since the 2007 NIT. WVU and NC Central will meet for the first time in history.

In addition to UMass and NC Central, West Virginia has Robert Morris, Georgetown, Iona, Mercyhurst and the Battle 4 Atlantis for the non-conference schedule. WVU will also play Pitt in the Backyard Brawl in Pittsburgh at an unannounced date.

WVU’s matchup vs. RMU will be the season opener and the game against Georgetown is the Big East-Big 12 Battle annual game.

The Battle 4 Atlantis will take place from November 27-29 in the Bahamas, with the field consisting of Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma and Providence.

WVU Basketball has one more home game to schedule for the non-conference slate, which will also be announced when finalized.
