WVU Basketball Jumps in KenPom After Upsetting Kansas

WVU basketball received a sizable boost in KenPom after defeating No. 22 Kansas 86-75 at Hope Coliseum Saturday.

WVU is now ranked No. 60 in KenPom after being No. 74 going into the game. Kansas was No. 18 prior to the game and now sits at No. 21.

The Mountaineers have an 11-5 (2-1, Big 12) record and a NET rating of 13.25.

On top of the win over Kansas, West Virginia has a resume of a 70-54 win over Mount Saint Maryโ€™s, a 73-65 win over Campbell,ย a 69-47 victory over Lehigh, a 71-49 domination of Pitt in the Backyard Brawl, aย 81-59 blowout win over Lafayette,ย a 70-38 ย routing of Mercyhurst,ย a 91-49 blowout win over Coppin State,ย a 90-58 win over Little Rock,ย an 86-51 win over MVSU,ย and a 62-60 win over Cincinnati.

Looking at the rest of the Big 12, Iowa State is No. 2, Arizona is No. 3, BYU is No. 10, Houston is No. 12, Texas Tech is No. 20, Kansas is No. 21, Baylor is No. 36, UCF is No. 45, TCU is No. 49 and Oklahoma State is No. 59.

WVU started last season at No. 87 in the KenPom rankings and ended at No. 51.

WVU basketball will play again at 7 p.m. Tuesday at No. 7 Houston.
