WVU Football Hosts 2027 CB Out of Prestigious WPIAL School
For another Western Pennsylvania recruit to watch, the WVU football staff hosted a defensive back out of the prestigious Pittsburgh Central Catholic on Saturday for Junior Day.
Zachary Gleason Jr., a 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back, posted a message of gratitude and a picture with WVU cornerbacks coach Rod West on social media after his experience in Morgantown.
A 2027 WPIAL product, Gleason is coming off a 2025 season that saw him make 45 tackles, ย record five for a loss and pick off three passes.
Gleason is rated as the No. 19 prospect in Pennsylvania and a top 60 cornerback in the country by 247 Sports.
Already a popular player, Gleason has offers from California, Indiana, Michigan State. North Carolina, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, SMU, Syracuse, USF and Wisconsin.
As expected, the Nittany Lions are viewed as the favorite to land Gleason. He’s already booked for an official visit booked with Penn State.
