WVU Commit Christion Stokes Second in the Running for Michigan Mr. Football
West Virginia three-star athlete commit Christion Stokes has produced at a high level all season for Harper Woods High School in Harper Woods, Michigan, and he’s firmly in the running for State Champs! Michigan’s Michigan Mr. Football award this season.
After a strong performance in a 32-21 win over Allen Park High School, with Stoke’s rushing for 225 yards and four touchdowns while flying all over the field from the Pioneers’ secondary with three tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble, he’s risen to second place in the Mr. Football Award voting.

Stokes is second in voting behind Grand Rapids Central Catholic quarterback Joey Silveri, 3,007 to 2,919 votes, as of Thursday night. Stokes has been a dynamic threat on both sides of the ball for the Pioneers so far this season, rushing for 1,330 yards and 17 yards as a running back while serving as a missile out of the secondary that’s been able to consistently get into opposing backfields and provide coverage over top.
With a big game against De Le Salle Collegiate — ranked second in Michigan according to MaxPreps — on the schedule next, Stokes will have the chance to show that he’s able to produce against the best of the best in Michigan high school football.
