WVU QB Commit Nicco Marchiol Didn’t Get Sacked, so He Treated His Offensive Line

In a battle of two top-ranked Arizona high school football teams, Hamilton escaped Chaparral 35-32 in an offensive showdown between two of the better quarterbacks in the state. Unsurprisingly, four-star West Virginia commit Nicco Marchiol was excellent behind center for Hamilton, but without a key group of guys in front of him, it would’ve been a much tougher night.

And as such, he treated his offensive linemen to a homemade meal of steak and lobster after a sack-free game.

With Hamilton offensive linemen such as Jacob Jones, Griffin Stalfort, Daniel Rea, William Ralls and Grayson Stovall and Hamilton offensive line coach Mark Tucker in attendance, the crew feasted on hearty portions of steak, lobster, corn on the cob, potatoes and more. With a 6-0 start to the season, it was a feast for the No. 1 team in the state, according to MaxPreps.

Friday night’s game against Chaparral was back and forth, with Hamilton managing to stay one step ahead most of the second half, and Marchiol was nearly perfect in guiding the Huskies to victory.

Marchiol completed 18-of-20 passing attempts for 217 yards and three touchdowns, and he added 32 more yards and another touchdown on the ground in another strong performance. On the season now, he’s completed 91-of-128 passing attempts for 1,310 yards and 19 touchdowns to just one interception — against a Bishop Gorman squad earlier this season loaded with Division I talent. He’s added 211 yards and three touchdowns on 43 attempts on the ground.

It’s been a busy summer for Marchiol, navigating his recruitment process and committing to West Virginia after de-committing from Florida State, but that hasn’t impacted his electric senior season thus far. In fact, Devils Digest recruiting analyst Cody Cameron believes Marchiol is an early favorite for Player of the Year.

With a matchup against undefeated Highland Park in two weeks and a huge cross-town matchup against Chandler to end the season, a battle between the top two teams in Arizona, it’s going to be a busy end to the season for Marchiol and Hamilton.
