WVU Football Gains Commitment from In-State 2024 LB
A West Virginia native makes it known he wants to be part of the WVU football program. Linebacker Curtis Jones announced early Sunday morning that he’s committing to be a Mountaineer.
Jones (6-foot-2, 210 pounds), who attends Cabell Midland High School in Ona, WVa. as a 2024 product, just shy of three hours southwest of Morgantown, commits to WVU a month after receiving an official offer.

West Virginia marked his first Power 5 offer, but he did receive offers from other schools around the region. Jones’ other Division I opportunities included Marshall, Toledo and Eastern Kentucky.
He made a visit to Morgantown on April 1 as a part of West Virginia Day.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound recruit played both running back and linebacker for Cabell Midland, which went 6-4 this past fall.
Curtis Jones Jr. also garnered some interest from Maryland and Appalachian State, having visited both schools, and also camped at Virginia Tech, Kentucky and Harvard.
