As West Virginia remains on the recruiting trail, they can take comfort in knowing they are in the mix a nearby top recruit. A 2027 four-star wide receiver out of Western Pennsylvania’s WPIAL is seriously considering taking his talents south to WVU.

In information first obtained by our partners at Pittsburgh Sports Now and then quickly revealed by the player, West Virginia is among Javien Robinson’s top schools. WVU is part of a top eight that includes Florida State, Miami (FL), Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse and Wisconsin.

Robinson also told PSN that he plans to visit WVU next week when West Virginia hosts Colorado. Robinson will also get to witness WVU honor the 20th anniversary of the 2005 Sugar Bowl champions and celebrate Steve Slaton’s upcoming induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Robinson is ranked as one of the top 10 wide receivers in all of Pennsylvania by national recruiting services. He’s also considered the No. 21 receiver in the country and the No. 144 overall prospect by 247 Sports.

A product of McKeesport High School within the Eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Robinson is a multi-sport athlete with offers on the table from schools like Akron, Miami (OH), Temple, Toledo, UConn, Duquesne and Sacramento State.

West Virginia has been in on Robison since the late summer, making him an official offer days before the 2025 season kicked off. WVU wide receivers coach Ryan Garrett called Robinson to inform him of West Virginiaโ€™s interest on August 26.
