WVU Football Loses Another Top CB Commit
After already losing one top cornerback, the WVU football staff can now also cross Elgin Sessions off their list for their 2025 class.
Sessions, a 6-foot, 180-pound three-star cornerback out of Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, S.C., flipped to Georgia Tech on Wednesday.
He initially picked the Mountaineers in late June over offers from programs like Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Marshall, Stanford, Wake Forest and several others.
In addition to Sessions, Terrance “Deuce” Edwards revealed his decision to switch his commitment from WVU to Michigan State on Instagram on Wednesday. The loss of Edwards now removes a three-star cornerback from a program looking to retool the secondary.
Edwards initially committed to West Virginiaon June 16. At that time, WVU beat out Michigan State and other major programs to land Edwards.
The class of 2025 cornerback, who took his official visit to WVU in late March, attends the Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Va. Every major recruiting outlet has Edwards rated with three stars and a spot within the top 20 Virginia based players. He’s also considered a top 50 cornerback nationally by most outlets.
