As the Big 12 moves its Media Days event to Las Vegas, the WVU football program will send four veteran leaders to represent the 2024 team.
Safety Aubrey Burks, quarterback Garrett Greene, defensive lineman Sean Martin and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum have been selected to make the trip with head coach Neal Brown and director of athletics Wren Baker.

This yearโs West Virginia team is looking to continue climbing after a successful 2023 season. WVU proved doubters wrong and finished with an overall 9-4 record, capping off the year with a Dukeโs Mayo Bowl win over North Carolina.
Based on what took place last season, the new landscape of the conference and many key contributors returning, WVU fans believe the Mountaineers are poised to make a run at winning the programโs first Big 12 title.
Despite the increased expectations from fans and the surprise success of 2023, the ESPN FPI projection shows thereโs still a reason for this group of Mountaineers to play with a chip on their shoulder. Major sportsbooks also have West Virginiaโs over/under win total only set at 6.5 and view the Mountaineers as a heavy underdog in their season opening game to Penn State, granted Athlon likely agrees with the latter since they have the Nittany Lions as their No. 8 best team in the country and a contender for making the College Football Playoff.
Fans may argue the Mountaineers are being disrespected by some while others may feel talk of winning a conference title is premature, but one thing is certain โ Brown and the rest of the coaching staff prefer to be the underdog. However, any of the low projections are interesting, taking into account most of the key players are returning and the schedule is arguably similar to last year.
