Johnson is another consensus 3-star across recruiting boards, and 247 Sports has Johnson ranked as the 90th-best recruit in a monstrous 2025 Florida recruiting class.
Johnson looks to join a strong group of defensive linemen for the 2025 recruiting class; while continuing the strong front the Mountaineers have sustained through recent years
The Mountaineers have been able to retain Johnson’s commitment, even after some late pushes from other schools. Johnson announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on June 10, 2024. Shortly after his commitment, Johnson took an official visit to Mississippi State and an unofficial visit to Florida State.
Johnson gained 30 others, including ones from Mississippi State, Boston College, Florida, Louisville, Miami, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Penn State, and Pittsburgh, amongst others.
