WVU Football Recruiting
WVU Adds Keystone State Native DB Chris Fileppo
Chris Fileppo made his WVU commitment official, inking his name on his National Letter of Intent to West Virginia University. Fileppo is a native of Glenside, Pennsylvania and played his high school ball out of LaSalle College High School.
While he was already committed to James Madison University, coach ShaDon Brown led the effort on Fileppo, and WVU offered him on May 21.

WVU has had success with their defensive front in recent years, especially in their linebacker room.ย Fileppo looks to add on more speed and agility, as some outlets project him to be a secondary player.ย He was also a track and field athlete during his high school career.ย He registered an 11.16 in the 100m dash and a 22.52 in the 200m dash while in high school.
Fileppo was a late bloomer in the 2025 class, with James Madison being in early on his recruiting process, before committing to the Dukes on April 4.
West Virginia swooped into his recruiting process by offering him in May and hosting Fileppo for an official visit on June 21. Two days after his visit to Morgantown, recruiting outlets named WVU as the favorite to land the versatile defensive player.ย That same day, June 23rd, Fileppo announced his commitment to the Mountaineers.
On3 Sports has rated Fileppo as an 87-graded defensive player, and 247 Sports has labeled him as the 25th best recruit in Pennsylvania. Both recruiting sites have labeled him as a top 120 linebacker in the country, with ESPN putting him inside the top 100.
Since Fileppo had an unordinary recruiting process, and was widely considered a late bloomer in the 2025 class, he carried nine offers.ย Along with James Madison, Fileppo also carried offers from USF,ย Villanova, and Purdue, before WVU heavily pursued him.
