WVU’s Gabe Osabuohien made a little guy’s day on Thursday as the Mountaineer visited an elementary school. This week Osabuohien is making a trip around the state of West Virginia to meet and greet the fans.

Osabuohien walked into a classroom to meet a fan named Caleb, who was stunned to see one of his favorite players. With tears coming out of his eyes Caleb says, “you’re like my favorite Mountaineer.”

Osabuohien chatted with Caleb and the two ended up taking a picture together.

“My boy Caleb made my day 💙💛😭😭😭 Told him he had to stop crying to get a picture though lol, this is what I do it for 💙💛. ‘You’re like my favorite Mountaineer.’ 😭,” Osabuohien said on Twitter.

This video just shows what being a Mountaineer and representing the entire state of West Virginia is all about.

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, sharing the honor with Oklahoma State’s Moussa Cisse and Baylor’s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.
