WVU graduate Javon Small was one of 75 players invited to the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, the league announced Friday.

The 2025 NBA Draft Combine will be held May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The 2025 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25 and 26 in the Barclays Center in New York.

Small, West Virginiaโ€™s point guard during the 2024-25 season, led the Mountaineers to a 19-12 record,ย just missing out on the NCAA Tournament. He finished second in the Big 12 in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game while earningย first-team All-Big 12 honors. He was also third in the league in assists (5.6 per game) and sixth in three-point shooting (35.3%).

Small scored double-digit points in all but two games this season. He reached 20 points 14 times and had a season-high 31 points in the teamโ€™s upset win over Gonzaga in The Bahamas.

Small officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft at the end of March.

โ€œI was blessed to have the opportunity to play at Eastern Carolina University, Oklahoma State and West Virginia and that is something Iโ€™ll cherish forever,โ€ Small said in a statement. โ€œWe all have dreams and I am ready to pursue mine. Therefore, I will be declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft.โ€

Small transferred to WVU from Oklahoma State, where he spent one season and averaged 15.1 points for the Cowboys. He began his career at East Carolina, playing 34 games over two seasons.

If selected, Small would be just the second former Mountaineer to be drafted since Jevon Carter was taken in the second round in 2018. Deuce McBride went No. 36 to the New York Knicks in 2021. WVU has produced five draft picks since 2000.

In addition to Small, other Big 12 players invited to the NBA Draft Combine are Arizona’s Carter Bryant, BYU’s Egor Demin, Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe, Houston’s Milos Uzan and Texas Tech’s Darrion Williams.
