2026 In-State Recruit Picks Penn State Over West Virginia
2026 in-state recruit Daniel Jennings announced on Wednesday night that he is committing to Penn State over West Virginia. Jennings is a four-star edge rusher from Princeton, W.Va. According to 247 Sports, Jennings is the top recruit in the state of West Virginia for the 2026 class.
WVU’s staff offered Jennings in January and has been on campus on multiple occasions, including the spring game and a camp in June. During his recruitment, Jennings has also picked up offers from Illinois and UNLV.
West Virginia currently has two commitments for the class of 2026: Brodie McWhorter (QB) and Daiveon Taylor (LB).
More on Jennings:
Penn State offered him in late March when he was on campus during the spring season. Since then, he’s returned to PSU for the Blue-White Game in April, a camp in early June and, most recently, this past weekend for the school’s annual Lasch Basch, which is the biggest recruiting weekend of the summer. Both of 247 Sports “crystal ball” projections always had Jennings committing to Penn State.
Penn State will travel to Morgantown on Aug. 31 to take on West Virginia to open the season. Penn State defeated West Virginia in State College 38-15 last season but the Mountaineers picked up momentum after a successful 2023 season.
