EvanMiya Tabs West Virginia No. 2 in Country with Transfer Class

West Virginia’s basketball staff has hit the transfer portal once again this spring, securing three commitments from Jesse Edwards (Syracuse), Kerr Kriisa (Arizona) and Omar Silverio (Manhattan) in the last month. Pair those three with MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Jose Perez, who sat out this past season, and WVU has a core of transfer portal recruits for next season.

EvanMiya’s rankings have West Virginia’s transfer class No. 2 overall in the country after Edwards’ commitment. EvanMiya’s transfer rankings had Edwards as the fifth-best player in the portal.

EvanMiya mentioned that Florida’s class was No. 1 in the country.

If you’re not familiar with EvanMiya’s rankings, it’s a computerized system that ranks all of the players and teams for college basketball. Evan dipped his toes into ranking the transfer portal last offseason and continued this year. Last year, WVU had a top 10 class with Erik Stevenson, Emmitt Matthews, Tre Mitchell and Joe Toussaint. West Virginia lost Stevenson and Matthews to graduation but will return Mitchell and Toussaint to team up with the latest transfers.

Bob Huggins and his coaching staff took their recruiting to the next level this offseason. Edwards, who committed to WVU on Sunday, averaged a double-double at Syracuse. Kriisa, from Arizona, was second in the Pac-12 with assists.
