Illinois-Chicago transfer forward Toby Okani has committed to West Virginia, he announced with On3Sports on Instagram. Okani chose WVU over LSU, Pepperdine, St. Bonaventure and Virginia.

Okani, a 6-foot-8 wing, visited WVU from April 12-14. Okani also visited St. Bonaventure, LSU and Virginia during his recruitment.

Okani averaged 11.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks through 33 games. Okani shot 39% from the field, 32% from three and 57% from the free throw line. Okani’s best performance of his senior year included a 31-point performance against Drake and new WVU HC Darian DeVries.

The Orange, Nj. native has one year of eligibility remaining. Okani began his career at Duquesne for his first two seasons.

Okani becomes the fourth transfer commitment, joining Tucker DeVries (F – Drake), Sencire Harris (G – Illinois) and Amani Hansberry (F – Illinois). WVU also has a high school commitment from former Drake signee KJ Tenner.

West Virginia has lost Josiah Harris (F), Seth Wilson (G), Patrick Suemnick (F), Kerr Kriisa (G), Jeremiah Bembry (G), Kobe Johnson (G), Ali Ragab (C) and Noah Farrakhan (G) to the transfer portal so far.

The transfer portal entry window closes next Wednesday on May 1. Players just need to be entered by then and can extend their recruitments as long as they want to.
