To continue the recent trend for the WVU baseball program of producing MLB draft picks, the Athletics selected catcher Logan Sauve in the seventh round on Monday.

The Athletics made the ex WVU star the 200th overall pick.

Sauve finished his college career by hitting .276 with eight home runs and 36 RBI in 54 games, a bit of a dip in production from his 2024 season. He helped lead West Virginia to the program’s first-ever outright Big 12 regular season title and then its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Super Regional round.

In 151 games as a Mountaineer, Sauve hit .284 with 20 home runs.
