Beanie Bishop Disrespects Pitt’s Logo, Adding Fuel to Backyard Brawl
Beanie Bishop may play for a Pittsburgh professional team, but he always wants to make his hatred for the city’s college program known. Bishop even took his hatred for Pitt to a new level recently.
Bishop took it upon himself to go in the Pitt locker room and rub his cleats on the Panthers’ logo. He then posted video of this on Instagram with a poop emoji plastered over the video.

Bishop has easy access to Pitt since the Panthers share a facility with the Steelers.
While this is being taken as a giant sign of disrespect by Pitt fans, it’s unclear when he did this. Bishop did this at least once before, namely leading up to the 2024 Backyard Brawl. It’s possible he just posted an old video to stir the pot, or maybe he did it again.
Either way, it’s certainly won’t be the last time Bishop shows his distain for Pitt.
Following a recent session of the Steelers’ Organized Team Activities (OTAs), Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette asked Bishop about the rivalry ending after the 2025 season.
“Yeah for sure, just like every other rivalry,” Bishop said about the game being played every year. “It’s hatred. You don’t have no respect for those guys. I really don’t even like seeing their coaches and players out here watching us practice. I’m kind of out-numbered. I don’t think it should be Week 2, Week 3. I think it should be a part of rivalry week.”
Bishop picked off a pass and made seven tackles in WVU’s 2023 Brawl win over Pitt and then finished his lone season as a Mountaineer as a consensus All-American.

He recorded 67 tackles and four interceptions in 2023 at WVU. The Steelers then signed Bishop as an undrafted free agent.
