On Friday morning, WVU head coach Bob Huggins was asked whether or not Gabe Osabuohien would play or not. Osabuohien was benched during the Kansas State game due to a coaching decision.

“Gabe is his own worst enemy,” Huggins said. “He’s got one more day of practice to figure it out and if he doesn’t, he will sit on the bench.”

It has been quite a reality check for Osabuohien the last week. During the game against Oklahoma State, Osabuohien talked too much to the officiating crew and was ejected from the contest. As Osabuohien walked off the floor, Huggins had a few not so nice words for the fifth-year senior.

Osabuohien ended up sitting out Monday’s game against Kansas State, as Huggins benched him. After the game, Huggins made it clear that Osabuohien was going to suffer the consequences for his episode the prior game.

Osabuohien is averaging 4.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks in 23 games this season.
