Dante Stills Named to Outland Award Watch List

Published

Defensive tackle Dante Stills keeps racking up the preseason accolades as he was named to the Outland Award watch list. Stills, alongside cornerback Charles Woods, was also named to the Bronko Nagurski watch list earlier today.

The Outland Award recognizes the top defensive interior lineman in division-I college football and the watch list contains 89 such candidates that fit the bill.

Stills is coming back after declining to leave for the NFL. The defensive tackle has gotten significant praise from all corners, making multiple preseason All-American and All-Conference teams for example, and is expected to have a great season.

Last season, he had a career high in tackles for loss with 15 and tied a career high in sacks with seven. This year, he is anchoring a defensive line that figured to be the strongest unit for a defense that had to replace a lot of players at their other units, especially the secondary.

The recipient of the 2022 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Thursday, December 8.
