Morgantown native and former WVU star Jedd Gyorko has made the Milwaukee Brewers’ postseason roster.

Gyroko was one of three former Mountaineers to play in the majors this season but will be the only one playing in the MLB playoffs. Gyorko enjoyed a bounce-back season this year with the Brewers after signing a one-year deal with the team last offseason.

After batting .174 with just two home runs and nine RBI in 62 games 2019, Gyorko hit .248 with nine homers and 17 RBI in 42 games this season. His .838 OPS was a career-best and led the Brewers.

The Brewers finished the 60-game season with a 29-31 record, claiming the eighth and final spot in the National League playoffs. They will take on the No. 1 seed Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game Wild Card Series starting tonight at 9 p.m.

In his eighth major league season, Gyorko also hit three doubles and scored 19 runs. He started 26 games at first base, eight at third and one at designated hitter.

Gyorko was inducted into the West Virginia University Sports Hall of Fame earlier this month.
