Former WVU CB Keith Washington Joining Saints as UDFA

Former West Virginia cornerback Keith Washington is joining the New Orleans saints as a undrafted free agent according to Ryan Talbot.

Washington spent his junior and senior seasons with the Mountaineers, totaling five interceptions and 18 passes defended. Washington led WVU with three interceptions in 10 starts this season.

Washington started his college career at Michigan in 2015. He redshirted as a true freshman and played special teams in 2016. Following that season Washington transferred to Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

At Copiah-Lincoln Washington recorded two interceptions and five pass breakups. He was rated as a three-star junior college prospect and chose to come to WVU ahead of the 2018 season.

In his first year at WVU Washington had 40 tackles, 2.5 for a loss, two interceptions and nine pass breakups. He was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention at defensive back following the season.

Washington was one of the few seniors on WVU’s team in 2019, starting 10 games at outside cornerback. He led the team with three interceptions while also having 23 tackles and nine pass breakups. After the season he was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
