The Memphis Grizzlies announced Sunday afternoon that the team signed former Mountaineer and 2018 second round pick Jevon Carter to a multi-year deal. Based on NBA and organization policy the terms of the deal were not released.

Carter, selected as the 32nd pick in the 2018 draft has increasingly become more dominant through the duration of the Summer League. Currently, Carter has averaged 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.40 steals in 23.8 minutes through five games.

During his college career Carter was named the NABC National defensive player of the year in 2016-17 and once again for the 2017-18 season. Additionally he was the inaugural winner of the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year which was awarded this year. With all of the defensive play that Carter brings to the game of basketball, expect him to begin to make some noise in the NBA in this regard.

Following the signing Carter took to Twitter with a special message.
