Mountaineers in the Pros
Joe Mazzulla Showered with Love After Leading Celtics to NBA Title
With Boston’s 106-88 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, Joe Mazzulla became an NBA champion and made history in the process. Mazzulla is now the youngest head coach to win the NBA Finals in 56 years and delivered the Celtics their NBA record 18th title.
As to be expected, Mazzulla’s championship success sparked tons of love across social media. Of course, much of it from members of his WVU family.
Joe Mazzulla's improbable coaching career now includes being the youngest head coach to win an NBA championship in 56 years and getting the Celtics their record 18th. For a Rhode Island native, this has to be a dream come true. The Joe Mazzulla story has to become a movie.

Congrats to Joe Mazzulla on winning the NBA Finals.
He was a beast at West Virginia, and I had the pleasure of running in to him before the LSU-WVU football game in 2011. pic.twitter.com/rWniHaSYbI

Cool seeing Joe Mazzulla’s LinkedIn page, which was last used when he was carving his way as a trainer. His long term objective? Become a head coach.
