JUCO DB with Several Years Left Commits to WVU Football

Along with several other bigger additions, the WVU football program also gained a commitment from a junior college defensive back.

Dodge City Community College defensive back Kaleb Gray committed to West Virginia on Wednesday. Gray will try to find a place on the Mountaineers over accepting offers from smaller schools. West Virginia just extended an official offer to Gray on April 29, the day before he committed.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 180-pound defensive back played in nine games in 2024 after redshirting in 2023. He registered 32 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, five passes defended and even three forced fumbles.

Gray totaled a season-high seven tackles on Oct. 5 against Hutchinson Community College. For a unique twist that shows his athletic ability, Gray actually punted a ball once last season, booting a ball for 62 yards.

The Galveston, Texas native has three years remaining of eligibility with the possibility he could apply for one more based on his junior college time.
