Juwan Staten Gets NBA G-League Opportunity with Maine Celtics
On Friday afternoon, it was announced that former WVU guard Juwan Staten signed an NBA G-League deal with the Maine Celtics. Staten will be joining former Mountaineers Jaysean Paige (player) and Joe Mazzulla (coach) on the Celtics.
Staten served as a graduate assistant under Bob Huggins last season, as the Dayton, Oh., native wants to become a coach one day. But, the coaching desires will have to wait until his playing days are over.

Staten played at WVU from 2012-15, appearing in 94 career games. He averaged 14.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals his senior season. The 6-foot-1 guard made the All-Big 12 First Team twice from 2014-15.
Following graduation, Staten went on to play in the G-League for a couple of seasons before becoming an international player. Staten played in Belgium, Finland, France, and Hungary before coming back to coach the Mountaineers. Staten will now head back to the NBA G-League.
