Mountaineers in the Pros
Miles McBride Records First NBA Career Points
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In his first game back for the New York Knicks, former WVU guard Miles “Deuce” McBride scored his first NBA basket against the Phoenix Suns, on Friday night.
McBride spent a short time in the G-League with the Winchester Knicks.
In the fourth quarter, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau put the former Mountaineer into the game. McBride played just four minutes but had a moment that he will never forget.
As McBride was guarding NBA all-star Devin Booker, he deflected a pass from Chris Paul and stole the ball. The 6-foot-1 guard took the ball in transition and drove into the paint with Paul guarding him and Booker chasing him.
McBride made the layup and recorded points one and two in the NBA.
