Carter McCray (6-1) averaged 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds for Wisconsin in her sophomore season. She scored a season-high 22 points against Northwestern in February. She notched five double-doubles this season.
As a freshman at Northern Kentucky, McCray averaged a double-double with 15.7 points and 11.2 rebounds in 22 starts.
McCray is the third transfer portal pickup by the Mountaineers this offseason along with Texas Tech’s Loghan Johnson and Butler’s Riley Makalusky. After being one of the smallest teams in the country the last two seasons, WVU coach Mark Kellogg appears to be prioritizing size this offseason with McCray (6-1), Makalusky (6-2) and Johnson (5-10).
