Sunday offers some news about West Virginia’s next game. The upcoming matchup between WVU and Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 19 will be televised on FOX. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm ET. The time was set but the network was left to be decided until after Week 7 action.

The Mountaineers enter the game at 3-3 (2-1, Big 12) compared to the Wildcats 5-1 (2-1, Big 12). This will be WVU’s annual Homecoming game.

Per the WVU football program’s press release, the game also will feature a special kickoff concert prior to the game in Almost Heaven Village with West Virginia musical artist Philip Bowen performing.

While West Virginia is coming off a disappointing 28-16 loss to Iowa State on Coal Rush night, the Wildcats managed to avoid an upset. Kansas State beat Colorado 31-28 after entering the week ranked No. 18 in the country by the Associated Press.

Two fourth quarter interceptions from Garrett Greene led to 14 points for the Cyclones. Just like any fan, WVU legend and media mogul Pat McAfee shared his disappointment and thoughts about the rest of the season immediately following the loss on social media.

Iowa State Takes Advantage of WVU’s Mistakes, Spoils Coal Rush Night in Morgantown

“West Virginia losing on Coal Rush night is quite a disappointment. Congrats to Iowa State on a massive win in Morgantown… A lot of season left,” McAfee said on X (formerly Twitter).

To no surprise, major oddsmakers and sportsbooks are expecting WVU to lose to their second straight ranked opponent in Week 8.

On Sunday, both DraftKings and FanDuel released their odds for the next slate of college football games and have the Mountaineers as a 2.5-point underdog at home to Kansas State.
