East Tennessee State transfer guard Ledarrius Brewer told Pittsburgh Sports Now that West Virginia is one of the schools that are interested in him. WVU assistant coach Larry Harrison has reached out to Brewer.

Brewer (6-foot-5, 195 pounds) averaged 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals through 32 games this past season. Brewer, a Meridian, Ms. native, has one season of eligibility remaining.

“I think I could be the best version of myself at those positions,” Brewer told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “At my best, I would say I’m a scoring playmaker.”

Over the past few days, the WVU coaching staff has shown interest in all different types of players in the transfer portal, JUCO and high school. Some of the notable names that the team is interested in are Jaelin Llewellyn, Bryce Lindsay and Mohamed Wague.

West Virginia’s coaching staff will have to do some damage in the offseason, as there are currently four scholarships available with the departures of Jalen Bridges and Isaiah Cottrell. WVU starting guard Kedrian “Keddy” Johnson announced on Wednesday afternoon that he will be returning to the team for his fifth season.

WV Sports Now will keep up to date with the latest recruiting and transfer portal news during the offseason.
