West Virginia Offers 2023 Safety Zyers Ruff II PWO Opportunity
West Virginia is not done recruiting talent in the 2023 class, even including preferred walk -ons.
Zyers Ruff II, a safety from Huron High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, tweeted on Tuesday morning that he’s received a PWO (preferred walk-on) offer from WVU. Ruff lists himself in his Twitter bio at 6’1″ and 195 pounds.
After an amazing conversation with @CoachWright37 I am truly blessed to receive an Offer (PWO) to West Virginia University @AllenTrieu @AntaiwnM @WVUfootball @Rivals_Clint pic.twitter.com/rtVl2LROuv

Ruff would fit the bill of WVU trying to find a diamond in the ruff to help build the future of the secondary. His confidence is clear, judging by calling himself a “relentless athlete” on social media. And despite not garnering stars from either Rivals or On3Sports, 247 Sports did award the safety two stars, a positive sign to show his potential. He may very well be the type of plater who would take a PWO offer without any guarantees and bet on himself.

In addition to the PWO opportunity with WVU, Ruff has actual offers from Central Michigan, Davenport and Delaware State.
