Breaking: West Virginia Receives Commitment From 2024 DL Richard James

West Virginia received their first commitment from the class of 2024 in DL Richard James. James played this past season at St. Joseph’s Prep School but will play the next two years at Big Picture Learning Academy.

James (6-foot-1, 270 pounds) is ranked a 3-star prospect from Philadelphia, picking WVU over Ole Miss, Penn State, Temple and Texas A&M. James was offered by WVU’s coaching staff on March 3 and visited Morgantown later that month.
James is the first player player committed to West Virginia from the class of 2024.
Looking at the class of 2023, WVU has received commitments from Josiah Trotter (LB), Cameron Calhoun (CB), Josiah Jackson (CB), Jahiem White (RB), Raheim Jeter (QB) and Cameron Jackson (DL). The 2023 class for WVU ranks 21st in the country and fourth in the Big 12.
