Spartanburg High School quarterback Raheim Jeter officially committed to join the Mountaineers on the night of his 17th birthday.

The South Carolina native selected quarterbacks coach Sean Reagan and WVU over the Kentucky Wildcats, and will effectively give new signee Nicco Marchiol a run for his money sophomore year.

Jeter added 2,694 yards on 202 completions for 19 touchdowns through a trio of seasons (16 games) with the Vikings, according to MaxPreps. His sophomore season, he also registered six rushing touchdowns, all short-yardage jaunts. He will add a rushing element that the Mountaineers haven’t secured in the pocket in years.
