WVU Adds Two Baseball Commits

Published

on

The Mountaineers had two huge baseball recruits commit this week. One being 2023 utility player from Mount Morris, PA, Lincoln Pack. He is the first to commit to WVU in the 2023 class and was recruited by assistant coach Steve Sabins. When I asked Pack about his relationship with Coach Sabins, he informed me that he respects Sabin very much and “loves what he is doing with the program”.

When WVU offered Pack he said “it was a dream come true” he’s always wanted to attend WVU. Pack enlightened me that throughout his baseball career he’s really looked up to Coach Ernie Galusky. Galusky has been Pack’s baseball coach since he was 8 years old. His favorite baseball memory up to his commitment is playing at Cooperstown, NY and said he loved bonding with his team and coaches.

Also committing to the baseball team this week was Trent Hodgdon, a 2021 right-handed pitcher from Smiths Station, Alabama. Sabins snagged him too and Trent says the two have built a great relationship and can’t wait to improve on it when he gets to WVU.

A coach that has impacted Hodgdon’s baseball career would be his travel team head coach Jeff Wright of the Dulin Dodgers Prime Baseball team from Tennessee. Hodgdon tells me committing to WVU “means absolutely everything to him”.
