Morgantown, WV – The West Virginia Mountaineer Baseball team scheduled two games against in-state rival Marshall Thundering Herd this fall. WVU will travel to Charleston Friday, September 27th to take on the Herd, then then the Mountaineers will host the second game at Monongalia County Ballpark during WVU’s homecoming weekend Friday, October 4th. Admission is free to both games.

West Virginia head coach Randy Mazey released a statement through the athletic department.

“I’m really excited for these two fall games against Marshall,” said WVU coach Randy Mazey, who enters his eighth season at the helm. “We have a lot of new guys on this team, so it will be good to see them out there for the first time and gauge what they can do. I think it’s really important for us to try to get a picture of what this year’s team is going to look like once we get to the spring.”

The Mountaineers are coming off, arguably, their best season in program history finishing second in wins (38-22) and hosting their first NCAA Regional since 1955.
