WVU Fills OC, LB/ST Coaching Vacancies
West Virginia head coach Neal Brown has announced two new additions to his coaching staff for the upcoming season: offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Gerad Parker and special teams coordinator/linebackers coach Jeff Koonz.
Parker replaces former receivers coach Xavier Dye, who left WVU in December to take a job at South Florida and takes over offensive coordinator duties from co-offensive coordinator Matt Moore and Chad Scott.
Thanks to Coach Franklin and the players and staff for making me and my family feel at home in Happy Valley!
Excited about this next step in life and what better place to do it than the country roads of #HailWV ready to sing that song! #TrustTheClimb pic.twitter.com/ZkkBfFfo8s— Gerad Parker (@GeradParker1) January 11, 2020
Parker spent this previous season as the passing game coordinator and receivers coach at Penn State. The Nittany Lions passed for 2,877 yards this season, eighth in the Big 10. Before Penn State, Parker spent two seasons at Duke, four years at Purdue and two years at Marshall.
Koonz replaces special teams coordinator/inside linebackers coach Blake Seiler who left West Virginia to become the defensive coordinator at Old Dominion.
My family and I are extremely proud to be a part of @WVUfootball. Ready to get to work and do our part to bring a championship HOME to West Virginia! #HailWV #TrustTheClimb https://t.co/sDSxvVtXCz
