At USF, Dye will be reunited with the coach from his playing days, Jeff Scott. Scott coached Dye for three seasons (2007-10) while Dye was a receiver at Clemson and Scott was the co-offensive coordinator. Dye later joined Scott’s staff as a graduate assistant.
Shortly after the announcement, Brown thanked Dye via Twitter and wished him the best of luck.
I want to thank Xavier Dye for his contributions to WV Football over the last 10 months. We wish him the best as he reunites with his close friend and mentor Jeff Scott. (1/2)

Brown also announced that they have already started a search for Dye’s replacement.
Our search has already begun as we seek to find a dynamic teacher to lead our talented young WR core. (2/2) #TrustTheClimb

West Virginia’s receiving corps this past season was very young and often injured. Redshirt freshman Sam James led the Mountaineers in both receptions (69) and receiving yards (677). Graduate transfer George Campbell led the team with seven receiving touchdowns.
As of now, Dye’s departure is the only opening on WVU’s coaching staff.
