WVU’s special teams woes may be remedied.
Florida State specialist Parker Grothaus is coming to the Mountain State.
Florida State K Parker Grothaus, who walked on before earning a scholarship, has entered the portal as a grad transfer after making 4 of 7 FG and 19 of 20 XP during his time with Florida State @Warchant

The Seminole walk-on-turned scholarship player elected to use his final season of eligibility with the Mountaineers. He’s a native of Indian Lake, Oh. and has the kind of hang time that WVU needs. Of 168 kickoffs during his time in Tallahassee, 89 were touchbacks. Last season alone, of 62 kicks, 29 landed in the end zone and they averaged 60.6 yards; that’s nearly 47 percent compared to WVU’s 17 percent on 12-of-68.
West Virginia fans will be able to see Grothaus and the rest of the 2022 WVU Football roster live on Apr. 23 for the Gold-Blue Spring Game at 1 p.m.
