Stab Victim ID’d as WVU Football’s Saint McLeod

The Morgantown Police Department identified Saturday night’s stabbing victim as WVU Football sophomore Saint McLeod.

McLeod was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital with lacerations on his back and stomach at around 1:17 a.m., a result of a verbal disagreement “that escalated”. He went into surgery and slated to be back at practice shortly.

A male suspect has yet to be detained, but was noted to be wearing a gray puffy jacket, but police.

The incident is under investigation. The MPD’s release encourages citizens with additional information regarding the incident to contact the Morgantown Police Department’s Detective Division at 304-284-7454 or call the MPD tips line at 304-284-7520 to make an anonymous tip.

The safety recorded play in eight of 13 games during the 2021 season, making 21 tackles and forcing two fumbles. It’s unclear if he will be cleared to play for the Gold-Blue Spring Game on Apr. 23.
