WVU Football DL commit Taylor Brown

It’s time to get to know Taylor Brown, the latest player to commit to join the WVU football 2025 class.

Brown (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) attends Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Md. He ended up picking West Virginia over offers from Buffalo, JMU, Marshall, Memphis, Pitt, Temple among others.

Most recruiting analysts love Brown’s size and his ability to use his hands to win one-on-one battles with opposing linemen. His strength and stamina also make him an imposing force to recognized with up front.

Brown fits the bill as someone who can be versatile, something the WVU coaching staff loves to find or cultivate in players. Even though Brown has mostly been under the radar as far as national attention, it’s easy to understand why West Virginia would be interested in him. It’s very possible Brown could be a diamond in the rough find for the Mountaineers.

WVU Football Gains Commitment from 2025 3-Star DL

247 Sports has him ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 17 player for his class in Maryland.

Brown’s commitment comes after taking an official visit to WVU last weekend. He’s one of West Virginia’s more recent offers, receiving the call on April 6 of this year.

In his junior season, Brown recorded 22 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, two sacks and one pass deflection.
