WVU Football’s Rodney Gallagher Scores 34 in High School Basketball Showdown with Lincoln Park

Unlike the rest of West Virginia football’s 2023 recruiting class, Rodney Gallagher isn’t done playing high school sports and had a game on Thursday night.

On Thursday, Gallagher put up 34 points, even though it was in a losing effort to one of Pennsylvania’s elite programs, especially on the western side of the state. Laurel Highlands fell to Lincoln Park 70-66.

After the close loss, Gallagher tweeted about moving on to the next game.

Gallagher, who’s always been a two-sport athlete, is far from just any member of the Laurel Highlands basketball team. Gallagher often leads his team in scoring, surpassing 1,500 points for his high school career earlier this season.

Once basketball season is over, it will be all about football for Gallagher. He officially signed his national letter of intent with the Mountaineers on the Early National Signing Day a couple of weeks ago, ending any speculation that he might de-commit.

Gallagher talked to WVSN about his plans to change the West Virginia football program on a recent show.
